The work consists of two calendars—one for common years and one for leap years—presented as posters composed solely of months and dates. By omitting the year and days of the week, the sequence of dates itself is presented as a single diagrammatic system.

The sandblasted FRP panels have a cloudy, stone-like texture. Conceived as a kind of “tablet,” they convey the cyclical system of time in which common years are punctuated by a leap year every four years. Inspired by the Golden Record carried aboard the Voyager spacecraft, the work is titled YELLOW PANEL.

The letterforms are created by applying clear coating almost as if filling the textured surface of the FRP with putty. When illuminated, the translucent letters shift in appearance depending on the angle of view and time of day, subtly registering the passage of time.

The work exists in two forms: the original FRP panels and a Print Edition, in which the panels are photographed and reproduced as prints.

平年と閏年、二種類のカレンダーを、月と日付のみで構成したポスターです。年号や曜日を排し、日付の連なりそのものをひとつの図式として提示しています。

ブラスト加工によってくもらせたFRP板は石のような質感を持ち、平年と、四年に一度の閏年が交互に循環する月日のシステムを伝えるための「石板」のような存在です。ボイジャー号に搭載されたゴールデンレコードから着想し、YELLOW PANELと名付けました。

文字部分は凹凸のできたFRP板にパテで穴を埋めるようにクリヤー塗装を施しています。光を受けて透過する文字は、角度や時間帯によって表情を変え、時間の経過をほのかに感じさせます。

本作は、実際のFRP板と、それを撮影・印刷した「Print Edition」の二種類で構成されています。
